What is an Essence Mask?

If you are a fan of or Instagram or have read a few blog posts - you’ve seen us mention the Premium Intensive Essence Mask a few times now. It’s a small Dr.Althea blue box and packaged in tiny portable pouches for a single-use. It might be too early to mention but it’s a perfect stocking stuffer or just a little *surprise* gift you can give to friends and family. Unlike our other masks, the essence isn’t soaked on a sheet. The essence is the same as the one your sheet mask is soaked in. This cream/gel essence mask acts like a mask pack, it’s lightweight enough to use whenever during the day or use as a sleeping pack at night! The highlighted ingredients in the essence are Tremella fuciformis (Mushroom) Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, and Chitosan. 

Tremella fuciformis(Mushroom)extract: Tremella fuciformis extract is called plant hyaluronic acid due to its abundant moisture. Like its name, it is proven to be effective in moisture supply. In addition to the powerful moisture, it is also famous for providing skin immunity enhancement function. With its rich and abundant β-glucan, it activates cell immunity function and eliminates harmful substances in the skin.

Chamomilla recutita(Matricaria)flower extract: As one of the natural herbal ingredients, it has a sweet and fresh scent with various kinds of functions. It is highly effective in acne-prone or inflammatory skin by controlling the sebum secretion and eliminating harmful substances in the skin. Also, it protects and soothes the sensitive, flushed skin with its protective water barrier formation.

Chitosan: Chitosan is suitable for any type of skin, especially sensitive skin with its similar structure to a human body. It shows an excellent effect on skin regeneration, skin immune system enhancement, and anti-
aging with its antibiotic function.
