Winter Skincare Tips & Tricks

 ❄Winter Skincare Tips & Tricks❄

If you’re like me and always suffer from cracked and majorly dry skin in the Wintertime, we might just have some tips to help you fight it off! From adding more moisture into the air in your house, to slathering on certain moisture boosting products, read on to finally find your way back to hydrated skin that locks in moisture… even in the dry cold Winter months.

❄ Invest in a Humidifier

The first tip we have for you all is to get moisture back into the air at your house! The air dries out in the colder months, and believe it or not, adding humidity back into the air will help naturally protect your skin’s moisture barrier as well. So, invest in even a small humidifier to help your skin stay plump and happy.

❄ Moisturizer

Make sure to moisturize, not only your face, but your body as well. As soon as you get out of the shower and the remaining water evaporates off your skin, it takes the remaining moisture with it. Use a thick cream that will truly lock in moisture and help make your skin strong against the moisture draining cold. As for facial moisturizer, we recommend adding one that contains Ceramide or Anastatica Extract. Ceramide is known to help heal irritated, painfully dry skin and Anastatica extract comes from a plant that can survive in the driest of environments. Even those with oily skin should make sure to drench their skin in moisture! Dr.Althea’s Resveratrol Intensive Repair Cream is a safe one for those of you with this skin type! It is effective at soothing acne and calms irritated skin.

❄ Using Cool Water to Wash your Face

This might seem like a weird trick to some of you, but it actually helps. Using water that is too hot drains the moisture from your skin. So, even though hot water feels nice and relaxing, your skin doesn't feel the same. Try using slightly cool water instead! Your skin will thank you.

❄ Other Skincare Products that Fight Dryness

So, the first skincare product tip we have for you is to try a moisturizing toner instead of an astringent to help condition your skin and fight acne. Try adding our newly released Dr. Althea’s Anastatica Skin Conditioning Toner into your daily routine. It was made using 85% Anastatica Hierochuntica Extract which comes from the Rose of Jericho plant. It is known for it’s superhuman ability to come back to life with contact with even one drop of water. It has deeply hydrating properties that penetrate deep into your skin, helping to lock in moisture from the very first step of your routine! Also, unlike most toners, it contains 85% natural extracts which means it is effective and won’t dry out your skin.

Another dry skin fighting product to add into your routine is a serum which will help pump up the moisture when your skin needs it most. Look for serums that contain hyaluronic acid which helps boost the skin’s moisture level ten fold. Dr.Althea’s Multi-Action Infusion Serum contains 5 different types of these moisture boosters as well as 9 different kinds of peptides, and much more. It will provide your skin with the nutrients it needs to fight the dry cold.

Last but not least, make sure to use an eye cream on the daily! The delicate skin around the eyes is highly affected by the drying Winter air. I know I can’t be the only one who gets weepy, watering eyes when the cold, windy air hits. This constant wetness on that delicate skin can cause redness and stinging. Dr.Althea’s To Be Eyeconic Eye Serum supplies hydration deep into the skin which helps prevent nutrient loss while promoting water retention.

And there you are. These are just a few, simple but effective tips to keep your skin plump and happy even during the frigid Winter. I don’t know about you, but I am feeling ready to take on the cold now! ⛄
