Hydrogel Masks - Do I need one?
Before We Go On
-
Hydrogel - a whole new way of constructing a sheet mask or even an under eye patch. Unlike the traditional sheet mask, this masking alternative is like its’ name: a hydrogel. That means the mask material itself is made up of essence gel. Since it is a hydrogel, your skin can actually suck up any moisture or nutrients that make up the hydrogel. Often when your skin is in need of intense hydration, you can expect your hydrogel mask to have shrunk by the end of your masking session!
The real question is do you use a sheet mask or a hydrogel mask? Or when do you use which? Well like mentioned above, hydrogels are best for skin that is dry, damaged, and in deep need of hydration. Most hydrogel masks also have some cooling properties so it may also benefit irritated skin. Because of its’ gel texture, perfect for easy absorption, it is ideal for combination/dry skin. Sheet masks still remain one of the most versatile masks out there so don’t be afraid to alternate between the hydrogel and sheet masks to get the best of both worlds.
