Whiteheads and blackheads are very common. Sometimes it’s unnoticeable and won’t bother you. Other times, it’s the only thing you notice - either way, these little guys are just as annoying as your typical pimple. That makes perfect sense because whiteheads and blackheads are mild forms of acne. Whiteheads and blackheads form the same way acne is formed. Pores are clogged by sebum and dirt and these pesky little bumps form. The biggest difference between the two is that blackheads are the result of a wide-open pore when air gets in the sebum oxidizes and darkens. While a whitehead is the result of a microscopic opening in the pore, since no air touches the sebum it remains white.
So what do you do? Well, take it from us: Do. Not. Squeeze.
